Chaenggimi ("the App") values user privacy and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws. This policy explains the categories, purposes, and retention periods of personal data processed by the App.
1. Privacy Principles
The App does not operate any backend server. All data the user enters or imports is stored only on the user's device, and the developer does not directly collect, view, or transmit any personal information.
2. Personal Data Processed
2-1. User-entered data
- •Items: person names and notes; event titles, dates, recurrence, and reminder schedule
- •Items: gift records (giver/receiver, content, amount, photo, direction)
- •Storage: on the user device (Isar local database)
2-2. Device Contacts (optional)
- •When import is allowed: names, birthdays/anniversaries, contact photos, contact identifier (contactId)
- •Storage: copied to the on-device app database; never transmitted
2-3. Photos (optional)
- •Items: image files the user explicitly selects and attaches
- •Storage: inside the device app sandbox (referenced by basename only)
2-4. Advertising identifiers
- •Items: Google Advertising ID (GAID/IDFA), IP address, device info (model/OS version)
- •Storage: Google AdMob servers (for ad delivery)
The App does not provide sign-up and does not collect identifiers such as name, email, phone, or account information. A "person name" the user enters refers to a third party the user wants to remember — not the user — and is never transmitted off the device.
3. Purposes
- •Local notifications for anniversaries and events registered by the user
- •Display and management of gift records and memos the user has saved
- •Non-personalized advertising via Google AdMob to support free operation of the app
4. Retention & Use Period
- •User-entered data: until the user manually deletes it or removes the app from the device
- •Advertising identifier: handled per Google AdMob policies (see Section 5)
- •Because there is no external storage, the disposal procedure is satisfied by user deletion or app removal
5. Permission Requests
Notifications
- •Purpose: deliver reminders for upcoming events
- •If denied: notifications cannot be delivered, but other features continue to work
Contacts
- •Purpose: bulk-import people and their birthdays/anniversaries from device contacts
- •If denied: contact import is unavailable, manual entry still works
Photo Library
- •Purpose: attach photos to gift records and person profiles
- •If denied: photo attachment is unavailable, other recording features still work
Exact Alarm (Android 12+, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM)
- •Purpose: fire notifications at the exact scheduled time
- •If denied: notification timing may be inaccurate
Permissions can be changed at any time in device settings.
11. Security Measures
- •User data is stored inside the OS app sandbox and cannot be accessed by other apps
- •The App itself does not transmit user data to any external server
- •Error logs are emitted only as on-device debug logs and never sent to external servers (as of V1; any change will be reflected here)
- •Identifiers used for ad delivery are handled per Google AdMob security policy
6. Third-Party Services
The App does not provide user-entered data to any third party. However, the following external service is used for ad delivery.
- •Google AdMob (Google LLC): Advertising ID (GAID/IDFA), IP address, device info — for non-personalized ad delivery
- •Non-personalized ads are enforced — no behavioral targeting, and the App does not request iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission

7. Your Rights & Ad Opt-Out
You can exercise the following rights directly inside the App.
- Access: view your data in the "People", "Events", and "Records" screens
- Correction: use the edit menu on each screen
- Per-item deletion: detail screen → delete button
- Deleting a person also removes their linked events and photos. Gift records remain but lose the person link (timeline preservation)
- Full deletion: removing the app from the device deletes all stored data
Because nothing is transmitted externally, there is no separate processing-suspension request. To opt out of personalized advertising in general, adjust device settings:
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > turn off "Personalized Ads"
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads > "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of personalized ads"
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, has no sign-up procedure, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe such information has been collected, please contact us and it will be deleted immediately.
9. Policy Changes
We may update this policy as laws or the service evolve. Significant changes will be announced in the app or on this page with an updated effective date.
