Trace Run Privacy Policy

Effective Date: November 1, 2024

This policy describes the privacy practices of "Trace Run" (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Trace Run does not collect any personal information. All data is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to an external server.

GPX route files you import, Apple Health workout data, and offline map tiles are all stored locally on your device only.

2. Device Permissions

The App may request the following permissions to function properly:

  • HealthKit (Apple Health): Read-only access to workout route data. The App never writes or modifies Health data.
  • Location: Used only to display the map.
  • Photo Library: Used to save exported videos and photos to your device.

3. Data Storage & Retention

All data — route files, simulation settings, and offline maps — is stored only on your device and never transmitted to any external server. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all data. We do not operate an external backup server, so deleted data cannot be recovered.

4. Third-Party Services

Trace Run does not share your data with third parties. When loading map tiles, a network request is sent to OpenFreeMap; no personal information is included in that request.

5. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced in the app or on this page in advance.
