Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is TDEE?

Total Daily Energy Expenditure — BMR multiplied by an activity factor. It's the calorie level that maintains your weight and the basis for any diet target.

Q. How much should I cut on a diet?

15-25% below TDEE (about 300-500 kcal deficit) is safe. Going deeper (50%+) causes muscle loss and rebound weight gain.

Q. Where do the food calorie values come from?

The list has 26 foods in 5 groups (rice/noodles, sides/soups, bread/snacks, drinks, fast food), each with an approximate value per serving (or the amount shown in its name). Cooking method, ingredients and portion size change the real number — use it as a guide.

Q. Are daily totals saved automatically?

No. The food log only lives on the current screen — it is cleared when you refresh or leave the page, and you can also empty it with the Clear Log button.

Q. Does it show protein/carb/fat ratios?

No — it only adds up calories (kcal) per food. Protein, carb and fat ratios are not calculated.

Q. Can I subtract calories burnt from exercise?

There is no exercise logging or calorie subtraction. Your usual exercise is reflected only through the 5 activity levels used in the TDEE calculation.
